Nixie

 

 

Nixie is a one year old Female Dalmatian. She was living with a women in Spain who had mental health issues and it was not a very good situation for her. We were asked to step in and help her. Nixie is now in foster care in Spain. She gets on well with the other dogs but is quite timid. She is gaining confidence and learning how to be a happy loved dog again. Nixie has tested positive for Leishmaniasis. A Mediterranean disease that is not contagious to other dogs in the U.K. She is currently being treated. Nixie will require medication until her levels are tested negative and then will need yearly blood tests after that. We offer full support for all our dogs so you will be given all the information you need and help and advice when she is homed. Please do not let this put you off. I have a Dalmatian with Leishmaniasis myself from Spain and she leads a full and happy life, is still mad as a box of frogs and tested negative after 6 months of treatment.
